Danish Open Windsurf Wave/Freestyle Championships 2019

Danish Open Windsurf Wave/Freestyle Championships 2019 – a shooting from Saturday at Agger/Denmark and some trainings shots at Klitmöller. This year the wind and wave conditions started difficult. The race was postponed to friday and than again to saturday early morning. The team was pretty flexible and just moved the full organization at early friday morning to the Agger surfspot – very much in the sand dunes north of the village Agger. Early morning meant – first meeting at 7AM. I just had to drive back to Germany saturday so the time window was small. I shot between 10.30 and 13.00 and at that time there was a solid 2m wave and 5-6Bf wind – enough to condense the full race to this saturday spot. Kudos to the Danish Open – team, they managed to get this event done under complex conditions and precisely organized for the wind slot. Full gallery soon on www.sailpower.de

Stacking is a very powerful technique with freestyle/wave surfing. You can easily combine a sequence of shots to a time-motion stack that shows the various stages of the movement. These stacks from a horizontal perspective are difficult to do automatically since the background changes constantly. There is some potential to work with copters here. So yes I hope to do more surf events in the future.
